A Simple Cyber Safety Checklist for Small Businesses
You do not need a large budget to avoid the most common attacks. Start with these habits.
Small businesses are attacked too, often by automatic tools that do not care about company size. A few habits stop many common problems.
Use a separate strong password for each important account, and turn on two-step login for email and banking.
Keep computers and phones updated. Take regular backups, keep one copy offline and test that it can be restored.
Train your staff. Many attacks begin with a fake email or a call asking for an OTP. Payment changes should always be confirmed by phone.
Remove the access of people who have left. Decide now who you will call if something goes wrong, because that is a poor time to start searching.
